Residents at the Cola Junction in Beirut expressed shock at the damage to an apartment building struck overnight—this incident represents the first known Israeli strike in the heart of the Lebanese capital in nearly two decades. One local resident noted that their neighborhood had remained untouched even during the 2006 conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
In a related statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people in a video, affirming Israel's support and reiterating threats against Iran. He declared, “There is nowhere in the Middle East Israel cannot reach,” emphasizing Israel’s commitment to safeguarding its nation.
This recent airstrike in central Beirut follows a series of attacks in the Dahiya neighborhood, where Israel has conducted strikes against high-profile Hezbollah figures. Recent targets included senior commanders, and the strike on Ibrahim Aqeel resulted in significant casualties, including children, according to Lebanese sources.
