Lebanese leader raises security concerns in talks with UK national adviser

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held a phone call with UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, during which the two sides discussed the country’s military and political situation, as well as the progress of ongoing negotiations. 

“Powell assured the President of the Republic that the United Kingdom stands by Lebanon and supports its political choices aimed at preserving security and stability in the country,” the Lebanese presidency said in a statement.

تلقى رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون اتصالاً هاتفياً من مستشار الأمن القومي البريطاني جوناثان باول، تناول التطورات الأمنية والعسكرية في لبنان ومسار التفاوض.

باول اكد لرئيس الجمهورية وقوف بريطانيا إلى جانب لبنان ودعم خياراته السياسية لحفظ الأمن والاستقرار في البلاد.
