Magnitude 5.7 earthquake strikes off Oregon coast, no damage reported

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has struck off the Pacific coast of the US state of Oregon, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The quake was recorded at 3:53 a.m. local time on June 3.

Its epicentre was located approximately 159 kilometres southwest of Pistol River, at a depth of 10 kilometres.

The USGS classified the tremor as a strong earthquake capable of causing damage.

No reports of casualties or damage have been received so far.
