Israel confirms eliminating two Hamas politburo members
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the elimination in the Gaza Strip of two members of the political bureau of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas: Ravi Mushtah and Sameh al-Sarraj.
The commander of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, was also liquidated, Caliber.Az reports, citing the army press service.
“About three months ago, as a result of a joint strike by the IDF and Shabak (General Security Service) in the Gaza Strip, the following terrorists were eliminated: Ravi Mushtah, head of the Hamas politburo in the Gaza Strip, Sameh al-Sarraj and Sami Auda,” reads a statement posted on the Israeli army's Telegram channel.
Iran launched dozens of missiles toward Israel on October 1 in what it said was a response to the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and others – potentially taking the region closer to a wider conflict. Dozens of missiles piercing through the skies were observed as sirens blasted across the country.
At least one person was killed and several were injured during the attack, according to the Israeli military. International spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Nadav Shoshani said that one Palestinian was killed in Jericho as a result of the attacks. Israel has vowed to respond to the attack – sparking worries among its allies that the conflict in the Middle East could escalate further.
