Israel declares five more areas closed military zone
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said that five more areas in northern Israel were declared closed military zone.
"Proceeding from the assessment of the situation, a decision was made to declare Zarit, Shomera, Shutul, Netua, and Even Menachem areas closed military zone from 8:00 pm [GMT+3]," the IDF said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The IDF emphasised that entry into this zone is strictly prohibited.
On September 23, the Israeli army launched Operation "Northern Arrows" against Hezbollah formations, carrying out extensive airstrikes on military targets associated with the Lebanese group.
As a result of an airstrike in Beirut on September 27, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah was killed.
The organisation confirmed his death and vowed to continue resisting Israel. In the early hours of October 1, the Israeli army announced the launch of a ground operation in the border regions of southern Lebanon.
