Israel Defense Forces capture Hezbollah combat complex in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have successfully taken control of a Hezbollah combat complex in southern Lebanon.
The Golani Brigade, an elite unit of the IDF, has assumed operational control of the Hezbollah site in Maroun al-Ras, which posed a direct threat to residents in northern Israel, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Israeli army.
The statement highlighted that the complex included a residential building adjacent to an olive grove, where a launch site targeting northern Israeli settlements was located. IDF troops seized various weapons from the premises, including camouflage nets, military vests, anti-tank missiles, and launchers.
Israel has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon since October 1, continuing aerial bombardments that have resulted in over a thousand casualties, including leaders of the Shiite movement.
More than 346,000 people have been displaced as refugees. Hezbollah is engaged in ground combat and continues launching rocket attacks into Israeli territory.
