Israel Defense Forces continues ground operation in Gaza Strip VIDEO

24 July 2024 17:32

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues its ground operation in the Gaza Strip, with ongoing actions in Khan Younis and Rafah.

Troops discovered an underground tunnel in Khan Younis and neutralized terrorists, Caliber.Az reports citing IDF’s message on Telegram.

Special forces provided intelligence leading to the destruction of a vehicle carrying militants through air and ground strikes.

In Rafah, Israeli forces have targeted several locations, uncovered weapons, and eliminated militants over the past 24 hours. Additionally, the Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on numerous targets across the Gaza Strip.

Israeli troops operating in southern Gaza’s Rafah killed numerous gunmen over the weekend (July 20-21) as the offensive against the terror group Hamas continued throughout the Strip.

Fighting in Rafah was led by the Givati Brigade, which engaged in several clashes with terror operatives. The 401st Armored Brigade carried out “significant activity” against Hamas sites and operatives in Rafah’s northwestern Tel Sultan neighborhood.

In the enclave’s center, reservists of the Alexandroni Brigade raided several Hamas sites in the Netzarim Corridor — an IDF-controlled east-west strip separating the territory in two — and called in an airstrike against a group of gunmen in a building.

Nearby in Deir al-Balah, the IDF had struck a building in an Israeli-designated humanitarian zone, which was used by the Hamas-linked Elkahira organization, having been a “central part of the infrastructure used to store and transfer large amounts of funds to terror organizations in the Gaza Strip, as well as to carry out terror activities” since the beginning of the war.

The strike was carried out after it ordered the evacuation of Palestinian civilians in the area. A fighter jet launched “precision munitions” in the attack, to mitigate harm to civilians. It was unclear how much damage was inflicted by the strike.

Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a deadly surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, spreading terror throughout the country. The carnage triggered a fierce response from Israel, whose military launched massive retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip. Since then, the Palestinian enclave of 2.3 million inhabitants, under Israeli blockade since 2007, has been living under bombardment, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.
