Israel detains citizen over alleged Iran intel links via Al Jazeera
Israel’s internal security agency Shin Bet, also known as Shabak, in coordination with the Israel Police, has detained Israeli citizen Husni Natour, a resident of Qalansawe, on suspicion of cooperating with foreign intelligence.
According to investigators, Natour initially approached the Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera seeking employment. Authorities allege that the network subsequently connected him with a representative of a “hostile country,” who assigned him tasks both prior to and during Israel’s operation against Iran, codenamed “Lion's Roar.”
The investigation found that Natour operated a news page that published content described by authorities as serving “the interests of the enemy.” He is also accused of receiving payment for gathering sensitive information, including locations of missile impact sites, the number of wounded individuals in hospitals, and other data considered capable of undermining Israel’s security.
