A 31-year-old Israeli resident is set to face national security charges over alleged contacts with Hamas and Iranian intelligence, according to investigators.
Sultan Abu al-Hajji, from the city of Tamra, was detained on August 28 in a joint operation by Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Investigators said he had repeatedly contacted members of Hamas's military wing in the Gaza Strip and provided them with covert assistance.
He also established contact with representatives of Iranian intelligence, but allegedly did not carry out any tasks for them.
The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment following the completion of the investigation.
