Israel eliminates 100+ Hezbollah militants, a commander in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have killed the commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan unit in southern Lebanon, the IDF spokesperson’s office reported.
“Over 100 terrorists have been eliminated and more than 60 Radwan unit command and control centres destroyed,” the statement said.
On March 11, during an operation near Harouf, the IDF killed Abu Ali Riyana, the commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan unit in southern Lebanon. He was a central figure responsible for coordinating operations, recruiting militants, and managing the weapons supply chain.
The Radwan unit, which conducts Hezbollah raids and serves as a key tool for the group’s attacks and propaganda, was a primary target of the IDF’s efforts to further weaken the organisation.
In addition to eliminating high-ranking commanders of the Radwan unit, the operation resulted in the deaths of over 100 militants and the destruction of more than 60 unit command centres, the IDF said.
