29 May 2026 11:10
Israeli leadership expects that upcoming talks with Lebanon in the United States could result in a broad ceasefire agreement, according to Kan, citing government sources.
The report, cited by TASS, states that three representatives of the Israeli military command are expected to meet Lebanese military officials at the Pentagon on May 29.
At the end of the third round of Lebanese–Israeli talks in Washington on May 14–15, it was announced that the agreement on the cessation of hostilities reached on April 16 would be extended for 45 days, in order to allow further progress.
It is expected that following the talks between military representatives, the political-level dialogue will resume on June 2–3.
