Israel and India signed 16 memoranda of understanding on bilateral cooperation at an event in Jerusalem attended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant step in expanding ties between the two countries.
According to a statement from Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar signed agreements covering cooperation in culture and innovation in agriculture, Caliber.Az reports.
Additional agreements focus on innovation and agricultural technologies, including the use of civilian drones, satellite data, irrigation and fertilization management, pest control, greenhouse crops, and the transfer of knowledge in advanced growing technologies.
The ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a research and innovation center for agriculture in India. The initiative will include training for instructors, exchanges of experts, and academic collaborations as part of the center’s development, the statement said.
