Israel intercepts missile launched from Yemen, IDF says
On September 4, the Israeli military said that a missile launched from Yemen was detected heading toward Israeli territory, and its aerial defence systems were activated to intercept the threat.
In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said the missile fell in an open area outside Israeli territory and no sirens were sounded, in line with standard protocol, Caliber.Az reports.
The public was advised to follow Home Front Command safety guidelines.
On September 3, 2025, the Israeli military intercepted another missile launched from Yemen, with sirens activated in Tel Aviv and other areas, as reported by Al Arabiya.
The IDF’s multilayered air defence systems, including the Arrow missile defence system, were deployed to counter the threat.
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group, which controls significant parts of Yemen, claimed responsibility for these attacks, describing them as acts of solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing Gaza conflict.
