Israel intercepts suspected drone from Yemen

The Israeli military has said it intercepted a suspicious aerial target launched from Yemen after air raid sirens sounded in the southern city of Eilat.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said alerts were activated following what it described as a hostile aircraft infiltration. The military confirmed that the target had been intercepted and that the incident was over, Caliber.Az reports. 

The interception came hours after Yemen's Houthi movement launched two ballistic missiles toward Israel earlier on June 8, according to the IDF. The military said one of the missiles was successfully intercepted, while the second failed to reach Israeli territory.
