Israel intercepts three drones flying from Lebanon

An Israeli Air Force fighter and navy missile ship have intercepted three drones heading from Lebanon.

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were identified by detection systems and tracked by ground control points throughout the flight, according to Gazeta.Ru.

The Israel Defence Forces said the drones were identified at an early stage and the targets were intercepted "at the optimum operating point".

“Proceeding from the initial investigation, the UAVs which were intercepted over the Mediterranean Sea did not pose a direct threat,” the Israel Defence Forces said.
