Israel intercepts three drones launched from Yemen

On September 8, the Israeli Air Force intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Yemen, the army press service said on Telegram.

The interceptions took place over the Arava and Negev regions, Caliber.Az reports.

In two instances, Israel’s Red Color (Tzeva Adom) early-warning system was activated, while in the third case, no alert was required.

Just one day before the September 8 interceptions, a Houthi drone struck the arrivals hall at Ramon International Airport near Eilat, injuring two people (a 63-year-old man with shrapnel wounds and a 52-year-old woman injured from a fall).

The attack, which temporarily shut down the airport, was not preceded by warning sirens due to a failure to classify the drone as hostile. The Houthis hailed the strike as a “qualitative military operation” and vowed to continue targeting Israeli airports.
