Israel issues urgent evacuation warning to Gaza residents PHOTO
IDF Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee has issued an emergency warning on X to residents of Gaza City.
According to the statement, the warning applies to residents of blocks 783, 784, 785 and 786, particularly those living in the building marked in red on military maps, along with people in the adjacent tents located on Jamal Abdel Nasser Street.
The IDF said the building and surrounding area would be targeted “in the near future” because of what it described as Hamas infrastructure located inside or nearby.
Note that, on September 5, the Israeli military demolished another high-rise block in Gaza City, the second in consecutive days, as its offensive in the enclave intensifies.
Defence Minister Israel Katz posted footage of the Sussi Tower collapsing, declaring: “We’re continuing.” The IDF said the building housed Hamas infrastructure, a claim the group denies.
Israel dropped leaflets urging civilians to move south to al-Mawasi before the strike, but the UN has warned that the area’s tent camps are overcrowded and unsafe, with hospitals already overwhelmed.
On September 2, five children were killed while queuing for water in al-Mawasi, an incident Israel said it was reviewing.
