Israel kills Hezbollah militant in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has struck a Hezbollah militant in the Taybeh area in southern Lebanon.
“A short while ago, the IDF struck a Hezbollah terrorist in the area of Taybeh in Southern Lebanon,” the IDF wrote on Telegram, per Caliber.Az.
In a previous such incident, the Israeli military targeted three members of the Iran-backed group in southern Lebanon on December 14. The military explained that the targets were involved in efforts to re‑establish Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in violation of the November 2024 ceasefire understanding between Israel and Lebanon.
A November 2024 ceasefire sought to end over a year of fighting between Israel and the Hezbollah militant group, which broke out after the start of the Gaza war in October 2023.
