Israel kills Islamic Jihad commander linked to October 7 attack PHOTO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) have killed Talal Jaber Mohammad Abd al-Aal, an Islamic Jihad operative who led a militant cell that infiltrated Israel during the October 7 attack and was involved in holding hostages throughout the conflict.
The IDF said the operation was carried out two days ago (on June 28) in the southern Gaza Strip, where Abd al-Aal had served in several roles within the Islamic Jihad organisation, Caliber.Az reports.
The military noted that Abd al-Aal commanded a unit that crossed into Israeli territory during the October 7 attack and participated in the assault.

It also stated that he was involved in guarding hostages held by Islamic Jihad in the southern Gaza Strip during the course of the war.
The IDF made it clear that precautionary measures were taken before the strike to reduce the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance.
According to the military, troops operating under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in line with the ceasefire agreement and will continue carrying out operations to eliminate any immediate threats.
