Israel launches fresh strikes on Hezbollah facilities in south Lebanon
The Israel Defence Forces carried out strikes on Hezbollah positions in several areas of southern Lebanon, targeting infrastructure the military said was being used to prepare attacks against Israel.
According to the IDF press service, Israeli forces hit launch sites and underground tunnel networks linked to Hezbollah during the operation.
“The Israel Defence Forces struck launch sites and underground tunnels used by Hezbollah to carry out terrorist attacks against IDF forces and the State of Israel,” the statement said.
The military added that Hezbollah had recently been using these facilities to rebuild its operational capabilities, describing such activity as a breach of existing agreements between Israel and Lebanon and a direct security threat.
“Recently, Hezbollah has been using these facilities to rebuild its organisation. Such actions constitute a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon and a threat to the Jewish state.
The IDF will continue to take action to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel,” the statement said.
