Israel launches large-scale counterterror operation in northern Samaria
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel Security Agency (ISA, also known as Shin Bet), and Israel Border Police (Magav) have announced the start of a wide-ranging counterterrorism operation in the northern Samaria region.
According to the IDF and ISA joint statement, they would not allow terrorism to take hold in the area and were acting actively to prevent it, Caliber.Az reports.
Authorities added that further information will be released later.
Israel has been conducting a series of counterterrorism operations across the northern West Bank, targeting militant infrastructure and preventing attacks on Israeli civilians and forces.
Many of these operations are part of Operation Iron Wall, launched in January 2025, aiming to dismantle organised militant networks, neutralise armed groups, and restore Israeli security control across Jenin, Tulkarm, northern Samaria, and surrounding areas through coordinated raids, arrests, and weapons seizures.
Israeli authorities describe these actions as part of a broader strategy to maintain security and stability, particularly in areas with recurring militant activity.
