Israel, Lebanon to resume talks in September with US support

A new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon is scheduled for early September, a US official told Al Arabiya.

According to the official, Washington remains optimistic about the negotiation process despite ongoing challenges.

The sides discussed the possibility of assigning a third party to carry out demining operations as part of talks on border security issues. The United States and Lebanon also discussed reconstruction efforts separately.

The US official also said that Hezbollah continues to attempt to disrupt the negotiation process.
