Israel mobilizes reservists for major Gaza offensive
As Gaza City emerges as the central battleground in the ongoing conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is accelerating preparations for a major ground offensive, with a focus on logistics, troop readiness, and support infrastructure.
On September 2, the IDF announced a large-scale mobilization of reservists accompanied by an anticipated expansion of ground operations within the Gaza Strip, including a renewed push into Gaza City. Troops are being equipped with full tactical gear, personal equipment, and mission-specific weaponry to ensure operational effectiveness, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Units have been engaged in rigorous training exercises that encompass both urban warfare and open-terrain combat scenarios, aimed at honing soldiers’ tactical proficiency in varied environments.
To facilitate the buildup, the IDF’s Technology and Logistics Directorate has established air-conditioned staging areas equipped with essential amenities such as water, electricity, showers, and toilets. This infrastructure is designed to provide soldiers with comfortable living conditions throughout the duration of their deployment.
Simultaneously, maintenance and technical teams from the Southern Command are positioned near the frontlines, conducting complex field repairs on armored vehicles, often under hostile fire, ensuring continued combat capability.
In addition, the Manpower Directorate has expanded its support services for reservists and their families, offering personalized assistance and comprehensive logistical backing. The military reiterated its commitment to maintaining fair service conditions and ensuring an equitable distribution of responsibilities across all units involved.
