Israel has officially opened a new embassy in Fiji, with Foreign Minister Gideon Saar attending the inauguration ceremony, according to the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
The opening is part of Israel’s broader effort to strengthen its diplomatic footprint in the Pacific region and deepen ties with island nations, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
In a statement, the ministry said the new mission is intended to enhance cooperation between the two countries across multiple sectors.
“The new embassy will strengthen ties between the countries, helping to reinforce long-standing friendship and cooperation in the areas of development, the economy, security, and much more,” the statement said.
