Israel presents new unmanned combat vehicle PHOTO/VIDEO
The Israeli Ministry of Defence has announced that the Medium Robotic Combat Vehicle (M-RCV), based on the BLR-2 Mk2 robotic platform from company B.L. Advanced Ground Support Systems, operating in Petah Tikva city, was presented for the first time in the Elbit Systems pavilion at the Eurosatory 2022 exhibition on June 13 in Paris.
The Israel-based news service Newsco.co.il reported that this is a land robot with a turret installed on cannon armament and an active defence system.
The device is domestically called "Hetz Dorban" (Iron Fist), manufactured by the company "Elbit Maarahot".
Experts note that the vehicle is essentially a technological sample of developments in this area with the possible involvement of a foreign partner, but a prototype of a real combat vehicle.
The developers claim that the combat vehicle has a rotating turret with an automatic cannon (30 mm), is equipped with a fire control system and an active protection complex, as well as a Spike rocket launcher.
According to the equipment’s description, the combat vehicle is designed for operations both in open and congested urban areas day and night, regardless of weather conditions, in particular thanks to its operational efficiency, ease of operation, and minimal need for operator intervention.
