Israel reports 910 soldiers injured in Lebanon ground operation
The Rehabilitation Department of the Israeli Ministry of Defence has announced that 910 soldiers have been injured since the commencement of the ground operation in Lebanon.
According to the department, 140 of these individuals are currently undergoing rehabilitation, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
The remaining soldiers sustained minor injuries and have returned to active duty after receiving medical treatment.
Over the course of the year-long conflict, a total of 12,000 military personnel and security forces have been injured.
Notably, 93% of those injured are men, with 66% being reservists. Additionally, 51% of the injured are aged between 18 and 30 years. Approximately 1,500 individuals have sustained injuries on two separate occasions.
On October 1, Israeli forces entered Lebanon with the aim of neutralising Hezbollah's ability to pose a threat to northern Israeli communities. This operation has successfully targeted and disrupted many of the resources necessary for Hezbollah to threaten these areas.
According to ISW, despite efforts to portray itself as a competent military force, Hezbollah has struggled to mount any substantial military campaign. However, this degradation is likely to be temporary, as the group could rebuild its capabilities if Israeli operations cease soon.
The IDF's entry into Lebanon on October 1 followed a prolonged campaign of air and ground strikes that disrupted Hezbollah's command structure. The deployment of five Israeli divisions in Lebanon has continued to dismantle Hezbollah forces, supported by ongoing air strikes targeting the group's supplies, finances, and leadership across the country.
Reports on Lebanese social media indicate that Hezbollah commanders are being killed almost daily, underscoring the sustained pressure from the IDF.
So far, Hezbollah has been unable to effectively carry out any significant military operations in response to the Israeli ground assault.
