Israel returns 45 Palestinian bodies to Gaza
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has received the bodies of 45 Palestinians killed in recent clashes from Israel.
Under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, a total of 270 bodies have now been returned to Gaza, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry’s official Telegram channel.
Of these, 78 have been formally identified, the ministry said.
In the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 10 additional bodies, bringing the total number of deaths since the ceasefire took effect to 238. Around 600 people have been reported injured.
The ceasefire came into effect on October 10, following an agreement signed on October 9 as part of the first phase of a peace plan previously proposed by US President Donald Trump. The arrangement includes a provision for Israel to return the bodies of 15 Gaza residents in exchange for one deceased hostage.
