Israel’s Chief of General Staff threatens new strikes on Hezbollah
The head of the Israeli army has said that every strike against Hezbollah is simultaneously a strike against the wider “axis” of the Islamic Republic and Iran’s investments in the region.
According to a statement by the Israeli military, Chief of the General Staff Eyal Zamir made the remarks during a visit to Israel Defense Forces positions at the Shebaa Farms area inside Lebanon.
Zamir said the Israeli military remains at a high level of readiness for any possible developments, including those involving the Islamic Republic. He stressed that no location would become a stronghold or safe zone for Hezbollah.
He added that Israeli forces would continue advancing into new areas if operational necessity required it.
According to Zamir, Israel’s operations aim to increase pressure on Hezbollah, push threats further away, and strengthen the defence of communities in northern Israel. He also said that since the start of the war, more than 7,500 Hezbollah members have been killed, including 2,500 since the beginning of Operation “Roaring Lion.”
