The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Naval Forces have reported the detection of an unidentified flying object that entered Israeli airspace.
The Sea Dome anti-missile system was deployed and successfully neutralized the target, Caliber.Az reports, citing the IDF's press service.
This marks the first time the sea-based version of the Iron Dome has been utilized during the ongoing conflict.
At 23:32, an alarm was sounded in Eilat and surrounding areas, and air defence systems were immediately activated. A Kan Bet radio correspondent based in Eilat confirmed that no injuries or property damages were reported as a result of the incident.
The sea-based Iron Dome is derived from the land-based version, with its control system developed by mPrest and the Adir radar system used by the corvette, developed by ELTA.
The Iron Dome system is an essential component of the Israel-wide air defence system, along with the Hetz and David's Sling missiles.
