Israel’s nighttime air assault devastates multiple Lebanese sites PHOTO
Overnight, Israel carried out a series of four airstrikes across Lebanon, causing significant destruction and devastating several targeted areas, Al Jazeera reports.
The Israeli military targeted a 15-story building in the Bashoura district of central Beirut, focusing on the basement, which the military claimed was used by Hezbollah to store cash. By early morning, the building was completely destroyed. Authorities said residents had been warned of the impending attack beforehand.
Three additional strikes hit densely populated areas of central Beirut, including the Zuqaq al-Blat and Basta neighbourhoods. Central parts of the city have been shelled multiple times since the conflict began earlier this month.
The Israeli army stated it is prepared to take “disproportionate measures” following recent rocket fire from Hezbollah. Military officials emphasised that further attacks will result in additional strikes, while Hezbollah continues rocket attacks, defying Israeli warnings.
