Israel says Hamas chief financial officer eliminated

Israeli forces have killed Mohammed Abu Alwan, head of the finance department of the Palestinian Hamas movement, in the Gaza Strip.

A joint statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz said the targeted killing was carried out in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“We will continue to hunt down Hamas commanders and militants, fight the sources of its financing and destroy its terrorist infrastructure. We will not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength and will not stop until Hamas disappears from the Gaza Strip,” the statement noted.
