Israel says it dismantled Hamas, Islamic Jihad weapons facilities in Gaza VIDEO

The Israeli military said it had dismantled three weapons storage facilities belonging to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, as well as a rocket launch site in the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement with the Shin Bet security agency, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its forces carried out strikes on September 8 in several areas of Gaza, targeting facilities where dozens of weapons were allegedly stored, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles and other military equipment.

The IDF said it had identified Hamas fighters recently arriving at the facilities and using weapons stored there to establish control in parts of Gaza and conduct operations.

According to the statement, Israeli forces issued advance warnings to civilians before the strikes and used what they described as precision munitions and aerial surveillance to reduce the risk to civilians.

The IDF said its forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in Gaza in accordance with the agreement and would continue operations against what it described as threats from armed groups.
