Israel eliminates Hamas company commander in Khan Younis, Gaza

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has said it killed a company commander from Hamas’ military wing in the Khan Younis area on August 13, accusing him of planning attacks against Israeli troops operating in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF noted that the Hamas operative was targeted in an aerial strike after being identified as a threat to Israeli forces in the area, Caliber.Az reports.

The military maintained that measures were taken before the strike to reduce the risk to civilians, including the use of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance.

The IDF added that troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operations aimed at eliminating immediate threats to Israeli forces.
