Israel says it eliminated two Hamas members in Gaza strikes

The Israel Defence Forces eliminated two Hamas members in airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on July 29, accusing them of planning attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.

The IDF said the strikes targeted Mohammed Al-Abed, identified as a supply officer in Hamas, and Ahmad Ma'in Muhammad Anqar, described as a Hamas commander, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the military, before and during the war, Al-Abed was involved in smuggling weapons into the Gaza Strip, facilitating the excavation of smuggling tunnels, and supplying arms to the military wings of terrorist organisations.

It noted that in recent months, the two men had been involved in planning attacks targeting IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

"The terrorists posed a threat to IDF troops and were eliminated in precise aerial strikes," the military added.

The IDF also said forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operations to eliminate any remaining threats.
