Israel says five Hamas militants killed in northern Gaza strike

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have carried out an airstrike in northern Gaza that killed five armed militants from Hamas' military wing.

It said the militants were attempting to restore an underground bunker when they were targeted, Caliber.Az reports.

"IDF struck five terrorists who were attempting to restore underground terrorist infrastructure in the northern Gaza Strip, west of the Yellow Line. The strike eliminated Hudhayfah Hussein Abdullah al-Hawajri, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas' East Jabalia Battalion. Additional terrorists were hit in the strike.," the military noted.

The IDF added that measures were taken before the strike to minimise harm to civilians.
