Israeli police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) have detained an 18-year-old resident of the northern part of the country, accused of preparing a terrorist attack on instructions from Hamas.
According to the investigation, the suspect had made contact with Hamas representatives and planned to carry out an attack against a Jewish settlement near his place of residence.
Authorities also said he had studied materials related to weapons handling and the construction of explosive devices and had stored ammunition at his home. Police further stated that the suspect supported Hamas activities and intended to carry out its instructions.
