Israel sets stage to supply cutting-edge Arrow 3 defence system to Germany
The Israeli Defence Ministry has officially started preparations to supply its advanced Arrow 3 missile defence system, also known as "Hetz-3", to the German Armed Forces in the coming months.
The ministry confirmed that both Israel and Germany have commenced the process of preparing the delivery of the Arrow 3 system to Germany’s military, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The Arrow 3 is a cutting-edge missile defence system designed to intercept and destroy ballistic missiles outside the Earth’s atmosphere, offering a crucial layer of protection against potential missile threats.
The official start of preparations to deliver the Arrow 3 missile defence system to the German military marks a significant milestone in advancing the largest defence export contract in Israel’s history.
Germany and Israel agreed on the sale of the Arrow 3 missile defence system to the Federal Republic of Germany in September 2023 in Berlin. The signing ceremony for the agreement took place in November of the same year in Tel Aviv. At that time, the Israeli Defence Ministry stated that the deal was valued at $3.6 billion. Under the agreement, the first Arrow 3 battery is scheduled for delivery to the German Defence Ministry by the end of 2025. In November 2024, the Israeli Defence Ministry reported that the defence ministries of both countries had begun coordinating joint preparations for the deployment of the Arrow 3 system on German soil in 2025.
