Envoy: Israel has full control over Iranian airspace
Israeli military forces have established full control over Iran's airspace, according to Israel’s Ambassador to Russia, Simona Halperin.
Speaking at a press briefing in Moscow, Halperin stated that the Israeli Air Forces now have “complete control over the entire territory and airspace of Iran,” Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Her remarks come amid escalating military operations between the two countries, with Israel intensifying its strikes on strategic targets across Iran following a series of hostile exchanges.
Earlier, Halperin stated that “it is too early to discuss a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict,” emphasising that Israel’s immediate priority is to eliminate threats originating from Iran rather than pursue negotiations.
She also dismissed any intent to overthrow Iran’s leadership, reiterating that the campaign is solely focused on national security.
In a similar vein, IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin earlier stated that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has achieved “full aerial superiority” over the Iranian capital, Tehra.
Defrin announced that Israeli forces had destroyed approximately one-third of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers and were successfully disrupting large portions of Iran’s retaliatory attack capabilities.
“Overnight, the Israeli Air Force intercepted and destroyed 20 ballistic missiles on the ground in Iran before they could be launched,” Defrin said, adding that around 50 Israeli fighter jets and drones simultaneously carried out precision strikes on missile storage facilities and command centers where Iranian forces were preparing to launch additional attacks.
