Israel strikes deep into southern Lebanon, neutralizes Hezbollah cells
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of targeted operations in southern Lebanon on March 9, striking Hezbollah cells, neutralizing militants, and seizing weapons and propaganda materials.
“Yesterday (Monday), Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers identified a cell of Hezbollah terrorists and directed an aircraft to strike and eliminate the militants. During the operation, soldiers also discovered numerous weapons and propaganda materials belonging to the Hezbollah organization,” a statement by the IDF press service said.
“Additionally, the troops identified additional suspects near IDF soldiers who posed a threat. The Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated them.
In parallel, IDF troops began conducting targeted raids in southern Lebanon. During the targeted raids, the troops identified terrorists who had entered a structure near the troops. Immediately after the identification, a tank fired at the terrorists and eliminated them.
Additionally, a structure in which ‘Radwan Force’ commanders had gathered was struck, as well as a weapons storage facility belonging to the terrorist organization.
IDF troops continue to operate in forward defensive positions in order to prevent the Hezbollah terrorist organization from rebuilding and reestablishing its capabilities,” the statement added.
