Israel strikes Lebanon, dozens killed in deadly assault

Israeli Defence Forces' strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 20 people, according to the foreign media.

The attacks targeted sites in southern Lebanon and the Dahieh district of Beirut, a key stronghold of the Hezbollah movement. Several infrastructure facilities linked to the organisation were also hit. 

Israeli officials have not yet provided detailed information on the outcomes of the operation.

The strikes followed Hezbollah’s escalation on the night of March 2, when the group fired rockets at Haifa and deployed drones across northern Israel.
