Israel strikes Revolutionary Guards' security headquarters in Tehran
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have carried out targeted airstrikes in the Iranian capital, Tehran, hitting two key facilities linked to the Islamic Republic’s security apparatus.
"Among the targets was Evin Prison, a high-security facility known for detaining political dissidents, journalists, and other opponents of the Iranian regime. The second strike reportedly hit the internal security headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a central node in the regime's domestic surveillance and suppression operations," Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Israeli officials described the strikes as a “direct message” to Iran’s leadership. “They are moments away from losing control of the regime,” one senior Israeli official said, characterizing the operation as both a tactical assault and a psychological warning.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has publicly detailed the scope and objectives of the IDF’' latest wave of strikes in Tehran, describing the operation as an unprecedented assault on the core institutions of the Iranian regime.
“The IDF is currently striking with unprecedented force regime targets and governmental repression bodies in the heart of Tehran, including the Basij headquarters, the Evin Prison for political prisoners and regime opponents, the ‘Destruction of Israel’ clock in Palestine Square, the internal security headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, the ideology headquarters, and other regime targets,” Katz said in an official statement.
The strikes, which mark one of the boldest Israeli military actions within Iran to date, appear to be carefully calibrated not only to damage critical infrastructure but to undermine the ideological and symbolic pillars of the Islamic Republic.
Katz made clear that the campaign is far from over. “We will continue to act to protect the home front and defeat the enemy,” he stated, underscoring Israel’s strategic resolve. “The strikes will continue until what he described as ‘all war goals’ are achieved.”
