Israel strikes terrorist in Lebanon after targeting Hezbollah rocket sites
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), acting jointly with the Israel Security Agency, carried out a targeted strike against a terrorist in the Ansariya area of Lebanon earlier on December 25.
According to Caliber.Az, the operation was confirmed in a joint statement issued by the IDF and the Israel Security Agency and published on their official Telegram channel. No additional operational details were disclosed.
The strike followed a series of IDF operations conducted a day earlier, on December 24, against Hezbollah rocket launchers positioned in southern Lebanon. The IDF press service reported that several launch sites belonging to the group were hit in multiple locations across the region.
In its statement, the IDF said that during these strikes, it destroyed Hezbollah military facilities as well as additional terrorist infrastructure from which operatives had recently carried out activities. The army stressed that the presence of these rocket launchers constituted a violation of the existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
“The Israel Defence Forces will continue to operate to remove any threat posed to the Jewish state and to prevent attempts by Hezbollah to re-establish its capabilities,” the statement said.
