Israel targets Hamas command centre in Gaza
The Israel Air Force has struck a Hamas command centre located in a building that was previously used as a school in the Zeitoun area of the Gaza Strip.
The facility was used by Hamas for storing numerous weaponry and conducting terrorist operations in the area, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF also accused Hamas of "systematic violations of international law" and "using Gaza's civilian population for terrorist activity."
Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a deadly surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, spreading terror throughout the country. The carnage triggered a fierce response from Israel, whose military launched massive retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip. Since then, the Palestinian enclave of 2.3 million inhabitants, under Israeli blockade since 2007, has been living under bombardment, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.
