Israel targets Hezbollah underground arsenal in Beirut
Over the past day, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of targeted strikes in Beirut aimed at Hezbollah infrastructure.
According to the IDF, the operations targeted an underground weapon storage facility and several command centres. Additional sites used by Hezbollah for terrorist activities, intelligence gathering, and propaganda were also struck.
“The infrastructures struck were intended to be used by Hezbollah to execute terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli residents,” the IDF said.
Prior to the strikes, precautionary measures were taken to reduce the risk to civilians, including advance warnings, the use of precision munitions, and aerial surveillance.
The IDF emphasized that the operation is part of a determined response to Hezbollah’s deliberate attacks on Israel in defence of the Iranian regime.
“The IDF will not tolerate any harm to be caused to the residents of the State of Israel,” the military added.
