Israel thanks North Macedonia for arrests over alleged antisemitic attack in Skopje

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has thanked the authorities of North Macedonia for the arrest of seven suspects in connection with an attempted arson attack on a Jewish community building in Skopje.

Sharing a post on X, Sa’ar said he was grateful to the government of North Macedonia and Foreign Minister Timčo Mucunski for the arrests, Caliber.Az reports.

I thank the North Macedonian government and my friend FM @TimcoMucunski for apprehending 7 suspects in the attempted antisemitic arson attack of the Jewish community building in Skopje on April 12th. Their swift and determined action to hold the perpetrators accountable…

“Their swift and determined action to hold the perpetrators accountable underscores North Macedonia’s commitment to safeguarding the Jewish community,” he wrote.

The attempted arson attack took place on April 12, which, according to the Israeli side, was antisemitic in nature.
