Israel threatens Supreme Leader as Iran reveals officials’ kill list
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz sharply condemned a list published by Iran-linked media naming senior Israeli officials as assassination targets, simultaneously issuing a veiled threat to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in response.
“I suggest to the Iranian dictator Khamenei that when he leaves the bunker, he occasionally look up at the sky and listen carefully to every buzz,” Caliber.Az quotes Katz as saying on X.

אני מציע לדיקטטור האיראני חמינאי שכשהוא יוצא מהבונקר שירים מידי פעם מבט לשמיים ויקשיב טוב לכל זמזום.

He added, “The participants of the 'red wedding' are waiting for him there,” referencing the codename of an Israeli campaign launched on June 13, 2025, which involved a series of coordinated strikes killing several of Iran’s top military commanders.
The operation, named after a massacre scene from the television series Game of Thrones, targeted senior figures including Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami, armed forces chief of staff Mohammad Bagheri, and general Gholam Ali Rashid.
Katz’s remarks came shortly after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-affiliated Telegram channel Saberin News released the assassination list amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran. These tensions persist despite a US-brokered ceasefire on June 24 that ended a 12-day conflict.
Last week, the newly appointed intelligence chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards described the ceasefire with Israel as a temporary pause in what Tehran considers an ongoing war, signalling that Iran’s security apparatus remains committed to a confrontational stance towards its adversary.
