Israel updates civil defence guidelines in northern communities Photo
Israel has updated its civilian defence guidelines for several northern areas following an ongoing situational assessment by the military’s Home Front Command, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
According to the IDF, the revised measures will be in effect from Friday, May 1, 2026, at 13:00, until Monday, May 4, 2026, at 20:00, Caliber.Az reports.
The Confrontation Line area, along with the communities of Meron, Bar Yohai, Or HaGanuz, and Safsufa, will move to a “partial activity” level under the updated directives.

Under the new guidelines, educational activities may take place in buildings or locations where a standard protected space can be reached within the required time frame. Workplaces are also permitted to operate under the same conditions.
Public gatherings will be limited to up to 200 people in open areas and up to 600 people inside buildings. All other civilian defence instructions remain unchanged.
“The Home Front Command continues to conduct ongoing situational assessments. Any changes to the civilian defense policies will be communicated to the public accordingly,” the IDF said.
