Israel urges evacuation of northern Gaza residents

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will launch an operation against the Palestinian group Hamas in the al-Jalaa area, north of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, and is urging local residents to evacuate.

"The IDF plans to carry out an operation against terrorist organisations in this area and is urging remaining residents around al-Jalaa to temporarily evacuate to a designated humanitarian zone," the IDF statement reads, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.

The Israeli military is informing local residents through leaflet drops, SMS alerts, and media announcements in Arabic.

"Staying there has become dangerous due to significant terrorist activity, the use of humanitarian zones for terrorist operations, and rocket attacks on Israel from al-Jalaa area. Accordingly, the boundaries of the humanitarian zone will be adjusted. This adjustment is based on precise intelligence indicating that Hamas has established terrorist infrastructure in the area," the IDF stated.
