Israel urges expulsion of Iranian diplomats after Diego Garcia strike
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has called on countries to expel Iranian diplomats following what he described as a concerning escalation after a strike on Diego Garcia.
In a post on the X platform, cited by Caliber.Az, Sa’ar said he made the appeal during a recent briefing with foreign ambassadors stationed in Israel, urging coordinated diplomatic action similar to a move announced by Lebanon a day earlier.
"In a briefing I just held with the foreign ambassadors serving in Israel, I called on their countries to expel Iran's ambassadors from their lands, as the Lebanese Foreign Ministry announced yesterday it would do. The strike on the Diego Garcia base demonstrates that the Iranian regime has consistently lied about the range of its missiles, including during this war. This further shows that the missile range of the Iranian regime threatens not only Israel and the countries of the region, but all of Europe as well," the post reads.
