Israel warns Lebanon will “pay full price” if Hezbollah attacks continue
Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, warned that Lebanon could face serious consequences if attacks linked to Hezbollah continue, addressing Joseph Aoun amid intensified hostilities with the group during the broader war with Iran.
“You pledged to implement the agreement and disarm Hezbollah — but this is not happening. Act and take measures — before we do more. We will not allow attacks on our settlements and soldiers, and if the sides clash, the government of Lebanon and all of Lebanon will pay the full price. If Nasrallah destroyed Lebanon, then Naim Qassem will finish it,” Katz said.
According to earlier reports, Katz made the remarks during a visit to positions of the Israel Defence Forces in Lebanon. The Israeli defence minister travelled to the area together with the commander of the 146th Division, Brigadier General Iftach Norkin.
During the visit, Katz said Hezbollah’s new leader should not underestimate Israel’s determination, warning that the miscalculations made by the group’s previous leadership had already led to severe consequences.
